Superior power with zero emissions.

Powering the rear axles are two powerful electric motors which together produce 280kw (380 PS or 375 BHP) of power providing remarkable propulsion. Each motor independently drives one of the back wheels. When it goes into production the gear box unit will be supplied by Formula One supplier Cima, Bologna (ITA). The acceleration from 0-100kmh (0-62mph) is achieved in a mere 3.9 seconds which, when compared with the normal combustion engine figures of 4.8 seconds is very impressive. Power delivery to the wheels from the electric motors is provided in a linear fashion without delay as opposed to the combustion engine. The maximum speed of the e-drive model is at least 205 km/h (126.5 mph). The entire electric drive train weighs only 150kgs. The efficiency of the electric drive motor is measured at over 90% which is extremely high.

A unique vehicle profile.

It is certain to say that the Artega SE will play a defining role in the acceptance of the sports car of the future; particularly as it is a part of German engineering art, produced by hand in a manufacturing plant according to the bespoke wishes of the customer – just like it’s equivalent the combustion engined Artega® GT. A small scale production allows the use of numerous new construction technologies. The Artega – whether electrically driven or combustion engined is a real innovation and indeed different to other cars.

The overall concept of the Artega provides an excellent start point – with a minimal additional weight.

The mid-engined concept uses a bolt on sub frame which gives excellent absorption of electric drive forces. The weight distribution (60% Rear, 40% Front) has changed slightly from the combustion engined model in order to use the higher weight of the electric drive components to assist with power delivery to the road through the rear axle. Already the production combustion engine version of the sports car has won other many customers with its lightweight construction. With a weight of 1285 kgs according to EU standards it offers significant advantages when compared with the competition. The Artega SE by comparison weighs in at 1450 kgs, an additional increase of only around 10%. Therefore the handling and the braking characteristics mimic those of the Artega® GT closely, characteristics which are themselves highly rated by the motoring press. The whole vehicle including suspension and brakes is more than capable of handling the additional 59 kw / 80 PS (78 bhp) in power, hence from this you gain an improved driving performance.
